Anthem donates £6,500 to Bath Mind from October magazine sales

Anthem is dedicated to supporting Bath Mind whenever possible, so with World Mental Health Day 2020 on the horizon, Anthem decided to repeat last year’s successful fundraising campaign…

World Mental Health Day takes place on 10 October every year to raise awareness of mental health issues and try to banish any stigma that surrounds them.

To mark the month and raise some money for our chosen charity Bath Mind, in 2019 Anthem decided to donate 10p from every magazine sold throughout the month of October to the charity. It was a great success, so we decided to repeat it again this year!

Why we decided to do it again

Charities have really struggled during the pandemic as many of the normal fundraising activities couldn’t go ahead. So it’s never been more important for us to be able to help Bath Mind.

It’s particularly important to us as our wellbeing titles – Colouring Heaven, Women’s Running, Planet Mindful, Ultimate Dot-2-Dot and Vegan Food & Living – are so aligned to improving people’s mental health.

We’re delighted to say that October’s copy sales have now been calculated and we’ve made a donation to Bath Mind for £6,576.30.

How will the donation help?

We picked Bath Mind as our chosen charity because we know what an incredibly important resource it is for the community. And when hearing what impact the charity has had this year, it reinforces why we need to do everything we can to help them.

Hannah Roper from Bath Mind explains:

We have just launched our Christmas Appeal, which is Give a gift that counts this Christmas – and this certainly is a fantastic gift that Anthem has given!

As you can imagine, we have seen an increase in demand for our services over the pandemic, with more people in our community struggling with poor mental health, isolation and devastating loneliness.

Christmas and the winter period is an extremely vulnerable time for people in need of support, so we envisage an even greater demand. Therefore your donation will have a significant impact in helping support those people this winter and beyond!

Your £6,576.30 will pay for over 330 people in our community to access a vital call to our evening crisis line Breathing Space, which operates 365 days a year. Since we launched this crisis line in March, we have prevented over 108 suicides – so you can really see the impact your donation will have.”

How can you help too?

If you’re able to join us in making a donation to Bath Mind’s Christmas Appeal, please do so here.

This Christmas is no doubt going to be a hard one for many, but you really can help to hopefully make it a little bit better for someone in need.
