Women’s Running bagged two awards at the annual PPA Independent Publishing Awards on Friday 26 November, despite hundreds of entries and some tough competition.
After being shortlisted for the second year in a row, the team took home Podcast of the Year for the weekly Women’s Running podcast. The judges highlighted a “great balance of insightful tips and interesting conversations, combining lots of practical advice with interviews that are entertaining and relatable”.
The strong listening figures, as well as the interaction with listeners, was also mentioned by the judges: a reminder that the podcast wouldn’t be in this position without a wonderful community of runners listening in. Esther and Holly were utterly thrilled to be there in person to receive the award on behalf of the whole Women’s Running team.
The team were also honoured to receive the Diversity & Inclusion Award 2021 for their work to make the running community a more inclusive space.
“Women’s Running not only provides a platform for people to share their diverse experiences and stories,” said the panel of judges, “but also actively encourages the brands they work with to live up to their expectations, so that over time diverse and inclusive content is nothing out of the ordinary.”
Thank you to the PPA team for a wonderful day celebrating so much hard work and congratulations to everyone who was shortlisted, including the team at Vegan Food & Living.
